In world where space has never felt closer, for many it still feels very much like a place for others such as scientists, governments and astronauts.

However, Space Dots believe that there is place in space for everyone, from artists and architects, to educators and entertainers.

From Frustration to Momentum

Both James and Bianca have spent long careers in the space industry as engineers developing a wide range of materials used in space, including work that travelled to the red planet on the Mars Rover missions.


Both co-founders found themselves eventually frustrated by the time, bureaucracy and lack of ambition found in the 'old space' industry. Further agitated by waste and damaged caused by the high risk taking mavericks of the 'new space' movement. 

Space Dots was born from their desire to build a Space Business that felt inclusive, diverse, long-term and mindful of what it takes to do work in space well.

Space Dots' has made incredible progress in the last 2 years. They now operate with serious investment behind the business, a fast growing team of super-talented engineers and first of it's kind 'Barnacle Dot' micro lab. This technology will be soon launched into space to carry out in-orbit experiments and analytics on new and novel materials and will go on to be used on the generation of space crafts, satellites and even habitats.

They have done the hard work to be listened to and taken seriously too. They have done this so that future generations of young people who may never have seen the space industry as a place for them, now have role-models and pathways to follow to make their dreams a reality. 

Beyond that, their SpaceDot technology is really challenging what it means to make space accessible, with micro testing labs which can provide actual in-orbit data on how existing and new materials perform in space.
